FUNERAL YESTERDAY FOR HALIFAX MERCHANT
John Braucher, age 49 years, died at his home in Halifax, Saturday night, following a prolonged illness.
Mr. Braucher was an employee of the Williamsport Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years, but for the past eleven years had conducted a store in Halifax. He had also served more than ten years as justice of the peace in Halifax.
Mr. Braucher was a member of the Harleton Lutheran Church, the Halifax Fire Company, Odd Fellows lodge of Halifax, the Loyal Order of Moose of Millersburg, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors are his wife, Abigail [Landis] Braucher; one son, Charles L. Braucher; and two sisters, Mrs. George W. Hale of Portland, Connecticut, and Mrs. Oscar D. Heckman, of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held from the residence yesterday afternoon, Rev. F. E. Davis, pastor of the Halifax Methodist Church, and Rev. R. M. Wise, pastor of the Fisherville Lutheran Parish, officiated. Interment was made in the Halifax Cemetery.
