REV. E. J. HEILMAN DIED AT EASTON
Rev. Edgar J. Heilman, age 73 years, who had been pastor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, that city, died Saturday evening.
Rev. Heilman was a native of Lehigh County and was a graduate of Muhlenberg College, Allentown, and the Mt. Airy Theological Seminary, Philadelphia.
Rev. Heilman’s first pastorate was at Wyndmore, near Philadelphia, from 1902 to 1909. Later he served for nine years at the Lykens Valley Lutheran Parish, at Elizabethville, before going to Easton, where he was pastor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, twenty-seven years.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary [Bechtold] Heilman; one daughter, Lieutenant Grace E. Heilman, of the Waves, stationed at Los Angeles; and two sons, Prof. Robert Heilman, of the University of Louisiana, and Carl Heilman, of New York City.
Services were held in St. Luke’s Church, Easton. Wednesday evening and interment will be at Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
