Allen Isaiah “Dutch” Romberger was born 26 May 1927 in Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, the son of Allen Clark Romberger (1909-1992) and Alvena Mae [Straub] Romberger (1908-1981).
Romberger signed with the Philadelphia Athletics organization as a pitcher in 1948 and spent most of his career in the minor leagues, earning a 111-72 record in seven seasons, the last of which, 1954, was split between the minor and major leagues. With the Philadelphia Athletics of the American League, he proved to be ineffective, winning only one game.
“Dutch” Romberger died on 26 May 1983 in Weikert, Union County, Pennsylvania.
