FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY FOR OSCAR R. TEMPLE
Oscar R. Temple, age 77 years, a Spanish-American War veteran, died at his home, Vine Street, town [Elizabethville], Friday evening, following a brief illness. He had been a resident of this community the past four years.
Mr. Temple was a son of the late John Temple and Mary [Botteiger] Temple and was a native of Wiconisco.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, John Lloyd Post 404, American Legion, and the Reliance Hose Company, Elizabethville; and the United Spanish War Veterans. He had served as a Service Officer of the American Legion twenty-seven years.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Grace [Perry] Temple; two sons, Ralph Temple, Sunbury; and Sidney Temple, with the U.S. Navy at Lakehurst, New Jersey; one granddaughter, and one brother, George Temple, Elizabethville.
Services were held from the Buffington Funeral Home at 10:00 o’clock Tuesday morning. Rev. W. Z. Artz, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church, officiated and interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery. Military rites were in charge of John Lloyd Post 404, American Legion.
