PROMINENT SQUIRE DIED
Rufus Umholtz, a highly respected and life long resident of Sacramento passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday evening, 12 March [1951], from a heart ailment. He was born 29 December 1875, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Umholtz. He was aged 75 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Umholtz, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Antes, of Williamstown; two sons, Oren Umholtz, Valley View, and Robert Umholtz, Columbus, Ohio. Also two grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Sacramento, a teacher in the Sunday School for many years. A retired school teacher in the Hubley Township Schools, having taught school for 42 years of which he was supervising principal for 6 years.
He was a graduate of Kutztown Normal School and studied at Bucknell University.
