A newspaper photograph of the members of the 1911 senior class of the Lykens High School. The photo appeared in the Lykens Standard of 26 August 1910. None of the individuals in the photo are identified, and those pictured may not have competed their senior year and graduated in 1911. This was explained in the photo caption:
THE PRESENT SENIOR CLASS OF THE LYKENS HIGH SCHOOL
Composed of fourteen boys and girls who commence their last year’s work, Monday, 29 August [1910]. But two of the pupils have conditions and are given an opportunity to pass them on Saturday, 27 August [1910].
The schools will open with what is expected to be the largest attendance for some years.
Miss Margaret Yeager of Susquehanna University, takes the place of Mrs. Fetterhoff in the High School faculty. Mr. Hoffman and Miss Wingert takes the the places of Miss Ulsh and Miss Reinecker, who are going to Porto Rico to teach in the Island schools, and Miss Catharine Jones of Wiconisco, takes the place of Miss Beryl School in the second grade.
