LYKENS PUBLISHER DIED SUDDENLY
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mark S. Coles, 49, editor and publisher of the Lykens Weekly Standard, in Lykens Christ Episcopal Church. Mr. Coles died suddenly Saturday while visiting his sister-in-law, Mrs. W. O. Deibler, in Albaby.
He inherited the newspaper which had been begun by his grandfather in 1899, from his father, Mr. Charles Coles. Mr. Coles, residing at 620 S. Second Street, Lykens, was active in civic affairs as a treasurer of the street lighting committee, was senior warden of Christ Episcopal Church, and was a member of the Lykens Rotary Club and the Lykens Chamber of Commerce.
In additio9n to his sister-in-law, he is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Coles.
