A snapshot photograph of Rebecca “Becky” Rickert, seated lecenter, of Specktown, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, taken about 1918, before her death, which occurred on 17 September 1918..
Becky was born in Specktown on 1 October 1837, the daughter of Martin Rickert (1804-1871) and Elizabeth “Betsy” [Yerges] Rickert (1913-1877). She never married. Becky lived with her sister Hannah Louisa [Rickert] Riegle (1847-1919) at what has come to be known as the Riegle-Dietrich homestead.
The girl at left rear is not identified. The children, left to right are: Albert Kendall Evitts (1910-1985), Hannah Louisa Riegle (1904-1977), and Ruth Olive Evitts (1910-1993), Becky’s great-nephew and nieces.
The photo was taken at the Riegle-Dietrich homestead. The house is still standing on Specktown Road, across from the present Gratz V. F. W.
