Gratz Fair Operators Are Sued for $25,000.
The Gratz Agricultural and Horticultural Association, which conducts the Gratz Fair, is named defendant in a $25,000 damage suit filed in the Dauphin County Court today by Mrs. Emma Newgard, of Valley View.
Samuel Newgard, husband of the claimant, was fatally injured at the Gratz Fair on 19 September 1929. He was walking across the race track when struck by a race horse. He died on 26 October of last year.
William M. Young and P. W. Fetterhoff, attorneys for Mrs. Newgard, contend the gates to the race track should have been guarded.
