A brief history of the bank appeared in the Williamstown Sesquicentennial History, published in 1976:
The Williams Valley Bank, Williamstown, Pennsylvania, opened for business Monday May 14, 1900. After several years at 115 Market Street, the officers decide that the institution was in need of quarters of its own, and purchased the property of S. W. McAllister, on Main Street, demolished the old building and erected in its place a new structure. on May 20, 1907, the new building opened for business.
It contained five business windows, an office, a large fireproof vault, safe deposit boxes, a private booth to transact your safe deposit box business, and on the second floor a directors’ room with committee rooms.
The bank continues in operation until July 1958, when they merged with the Miner’s National Bank of Pottsville.
The following composed the Board of Directors: Amos Lebo, president; S. M. Fenn, vice president; Dr. G. M. Stites; J. C. Thompson; William J. Durbin; W. H. Clay Keen; J. Nevin Baker; J. S. Reiff; John H. Lehr; H. Row; and J. J. Clarkson, cashier.

Today, the building is the home of the Williamstown and Williams Township Historical Society.
