Motel operator charged
A 59-year-old businessman, Harry Franklin Mace, operator of the Fountain Blue Motel and Lounge at Williamstown, was bound over for court Thursday at a preliminary hearing before District Justice Francis Reichenbach, Elizabethville.
Mace was charged with two counts of promoting prostitution and one charge each of solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual act.
Prosecution witnesses included three undercover agents who allegedly met with Mace on several occasions during an investigation that began last April and Cpl. Max Seiler of the Lykens State Police, the arresting officer.
Wilson Oldhouser, York attorney for Mace, called no witnesses at the hearing. He asked that all charges be dropped, claiming that the case against Mace was clearly one of enticement. He said that only police personnel,. no innocent third parties, were involved.
