The individuals in the photo are not identified, but the purpose of the chapter and a list of officers and members was provided:
“The National Honor Society is a school organization for outstanding students in the secondary school.
“The Pine Grove High School Chapter of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools received its charter in February, 1953. The object of this chapter is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character.
“Requirements for membership are character, service leadership, and scholarship.”
