FORMER BERRYSBURG PASTOR DIED SATURDAY
Rev. George W. Imboden, age 68 years, retired minister of the Evangelical Church, died at the home of his son, Livingston Imboden in Reading. Rev. Imboden had retired from the ministry about ten years ago.
Rev. Imboden was a native of Annville and was graduated from Lebanon Valley College. He received the Doctor of Divinity Degree at Richmond Theological Seminary, and the Ph.D. degree at Oskaloosa Theological Seminary in Iowa.
He received his first appointment in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Evangelical Church. During the ministry he served churches at Johnstown, Oil City, Hamburg, McKeesport, Schuylkill Haven, Ashland, Berrysburg, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Emaus and Lititz.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Phoebe Imboden, one son Livingston Imboden, a daughter, Mrs. Roger W. Koppenhaver, all of Reading, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Evangelical Church at Annville on Wednesday afternoon with Bishop Charles E. Mengel and Bishop E. S. Woodring officiating. Interment was made in the Annville Cemetery.
