Rev. William T. Walton served as minister of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, 1979-1986.
William T. Walton was born 26 July 1931 in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He became interested in the ministry under the leadership of the Lutheran pastor of his hometown.
After graduating from high school in 1949, Rev. Walton entered Muhlenberg College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1953. He received his Masters of Divinity degree at Mt. Airy Lutheran Seminary in 1956, and a Master of Science at Marywood School of Theology in 1978, where he also did some teaching.
Before coming to Gratz, he served in these callings:
- Trinity Lutheran Church, Coatesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
- The Board of American Missions of the Lutheran Church.
- St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
- Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
Rev. Walton began serving in Gratz on 29 April 1979 and served until 1986.
