NEW ROAD OPENED
The new highway between Lykens and the Dauphin-Schuylkill County line, at the southern end of Tower City, was opened to traffic on Saturday, October 4 [1941]. Practically all the fillings on the berm of the highway are completed and a sub-contractor started last week to apply the black top coating to the highway. This stretch of road is a part of Route 209.
The new road will follow almost a straight line from Lykens to Tower City, eliminating from its course Wiconisco and Williamstown.
