F. J. Douden Buried Monday
Funeral services for Fred J. Douden, age 86 of Lykens, who died last Friday morning, were held Monday afternoon from the residence. Rev. J. F. Matter, pastor of the Lykens Zion Lutheran Church officiated and interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Millersburg.
Mr. Douden was a native of England and had lived in Lykens for fifty years where he engaged in the lumber contracting business. His first wife, Caroline Dietrich died a number of years ago and he was later married to Mrs. Lydia Finton. Mr. Douden was affiliated with the Lykens order of Odd Fellows and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Ashlar Lodge, F. and A. M., Lykens, and had been a director of the Tower City Bank and the Miners Deposit Bank of Lykens for many years.
Survivors are two children, Elizabeth, Mrs. E. A. Weaver of Brooklyn, New York, and Arthur Douden, also of Brooklyn.
