The following news briefs were published in the “Gratz Items” section of a local newspaper for the week of 20 January 1926:
The sale of Harry Schlegel was largely attended last Saturday. It lasted from 12 o’clock noon until 10:30 p.m. The property was purchased by Jacob Riegle, who will go into the Radio business.
Quite a few of our farmers are attending the Farm Products Show at Harrisburg this week.
Gowen Wiest bought a pig from Daniel Saltzer that weighed 702 pounds. If any one can beat that let Mr. Wiest know.
O. T. Tobias attended the funeral of Mrs. John Mauser of Mahantongo at the Klinger’s Church.
Arthur Wiest received a fresh supply of seeds.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Minnick and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Minnick and family visited at the home of Harry Hepler, Sunday.
