Samuel Brosius Jr. (4th child of Samuel and Emma)
March 12, 1909- JUNE 1974
Samuel was only six years old when his loving mother, Emma died from a tragic accident.
1920 census shows Samuel is 10 years old and living with his father, sister Mabel and his father’s sister Sarah Brosius Keim on Fern Street in Shamokin.
1930 census shows Samuel is living in Washington Township, Pa with his father and his father’s third wife, Susanna. Sam Jr. is listed as a college student.
In 1939 he married Alvira Wilson.
She was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 9, 1919 to Herbert and May Wilson. Alvira graduated from Dickinson High School, and later earned her teaching degree from Jersey City State Teachers College.
She taught the third grade at Robert Waters Elementary School in Union City, NJ for 35 years. Alvira died November 24, 2014.
1940 census shows Samuel is living on Bleecker Street in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey.
His occupation is listed as a Clergyman and is a 4th year college student.
Samuel was the pastor at All Souls Lutheran Church in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Sam and Alvira had two children.
