FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY FOR COUNTY OFFICIAL
Park H. Fegley, 39, of Lykens, Clerk of the Dauphin County Courts, died in the Polyclinic Hospital Saturday morning.
Mr. Fegley had been admitted to the hospital July 4th [1946] where he underwent two surgical operations.
Mr. Fegley was a native and lifelong resident of Lykens, and was a graduate of the Lykens High School. He had served as Clerk of the Courts since 1938, having been re-elected in 1941 and 1945. He had recently been elected Vice Chairman of the Dauphin County Republican Committee to succeed the late James E. Lentz.
Mr. Fegley was an active member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church, Lykens, and was superintendent of the Sunday School. He was also vice president of the Dauphin County Council of Christian Education.
He had been active in civic affairs of the community and also served as a member of the Selective Service Board, Lykens.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Marie Fegley, and three children, Grover Fegley, Phyllis Fegley, and Joyce Fegley, of Lykens; three brothers, Rev. Leroy Fegley of Hummelstown, Glenn Fegley of Lykens, and Myron Fegley, Camden, New Jersey; and four sisters, Mrs. H. S. Kiefer, Elizabethville; Mrs. DeWitt Zuse and Miss Pauline Fegley and Miss Florence Fegley of Lykens.
Funeral services were held in the Lykens United Brethren Church at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Samuel Stoner, pastor of the Lykens United Brethren Church; Rev. Dr. D. E. Young of Harrisburg, East Pennsylvania Conference Superintendent, and Rev. Dr. C. A. Lynch, president of Lebanon Valley College, Annville, officiated. Interment was made in the Wiconisco Cemetery.
