BLAME AUTO VICTIM FOR ACCIDENT
At an inquest held in Reading last week, a coroner’s jury in its verdict, placed the responsibility on Nelson A. Reed, late of Valley View for a collision of two automobiles near Reading, that resulted in the fatal injuries of two. The verdict also declared the accident avoidable.
Reed, it is alleged was the driver of an automobile that struck a car operated by John H. Guenther, Reading manufacturer, near that city on September 1st. Reed was killed instantly and a sister-in-law, Miss Vera Reber of Schuylkill Haven injured so seriously that she died in a Reading hospital some time later. Charles Stackhouse, of Philadelphia, also a passenger in Reed’s car was injured, although not seriously.

Note: In the 1930 census, Nelson A. Reed was living in Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He gave his occupation as “auto dealer.”
