PLANES LAND AT RIFE BECAUSE OF MURKY WEATHER
Two Taylor Cub planes being flown from Bradford to Philadelphia landed safely in a field near Rife Monday, when poor visibility and rains caused decision by the pilots to abandon the flight.
The planes carried R. T. Flynn, pilot, of Philadelphia and a companion pilot and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bach of Philadelphia.
The pilots had been seeking the Millersburg Airport, operated by Marion “Hops” Gilbert. When advised by Rife residents of its location, the aviators flew the ship to the port where they placed their planes in the hangar. The party resumed their flight Tuesday morning.
