This aerial view of what was the Aaron Lubold farm in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, about 1875, shows improvements made to about the 1950s when the farm was owned by the Delmar Weaver family.
The location of the farm is noted on the 1875 Lykens Township map shown above (circled in red). Aaron Lubold (or Lupold), owned 106 acres and his neighbor Jonathan Lebo owned 40 acres. The north-south road (between the “e” and “b” in “Lebo”) is the Crossroads, and the road coming off the Crossroads and going east is Specktown Road.
The old Lubold barn, shown above, was taken down many years before the aerial photograph was made of the farm. Also removed from the property was the old Lubold farmhouse, shown below.
Old-time local residents recall that the farm house was disassembled and reconstructed in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Its exact present location is unknown.
According to property records, Jonas Lubold and his wife Kate Lubold owned this farm for most of the first half of the 20th century. The above photograph of the family at the farm has both Kate and Jonas labeled (two adults in front row, standing at right). The other persons in the photo have not been identified.
