40 GO SIGHTSEEING
Approximately 40 persons took advantage of the sightseeing flights last Sunday from the Kessler Airport southwest of Tower City.
First passenger shortly afternoon was John J. Meehan of Williamstown. Oldest passenger was Mrs. Ida Ulsh, 79, of Reinerton. Youngest passenger was Penny Keim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Keim, Reinerton. The passengers coming the longest distance were Mr. and Mrs. William Schaffner and son John Schaffner of Harrisburg.
Riders received the option of flights over Tower City or Williamstown. Some hunters were give flights over the Greenland hunting area.
The plane, an Aeronca, with tricycle gear, was piloted by Ledyard Thompson of Pine Grove. He was in the air three hours and 45 minutes all told.
The Community Industrial Organization realized a profit of $89 from the rides and $27.66 from the refreshment concession for a total of $116.66. Most of the food was donated.
