A 1901 photograph of the employees of the Fox Factory, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
None of the employees are identified.
The factory was a 1 1/2 story frame structure operated by William S. Fox, and was his first place of business after coming to Pine Grove. HE only produced men’s work shirts.
The factory was located on the western side of the Reading Railroad midway between the depot and the East Pottsville Street crossing. It remained at this location until the building was destroyed by fire after which it was moved to a a building near the location of the 1950 factory, but it too met the same fate. The new factory was much more spacious and the operation was expanded to include a cutting department in North Pine Grove, warehouses on Spruce Street, and subsidiary plants in Tremont, Schuylkill County. and Milton, Northumberland County.
