A 1950 newspaper photograph of the new athletic field of Pine Grove High School, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, dedicated on September 30, 1950.
Caption:
Shown above is the seating capacity of Pine Grove High School’s new athletic field which will be formally dedicated during an appropriate program in the high school auditorium tomorrow evening. The main grandstand at left is augmented by a section of stationary bleachers of similar dimensions at the northern end, providing facilities for seating at least 1000 people comfortably. The grandstand and bleachers combined extend almost the full length of the playing field. The steel work of the grandstand is the same as that used at the old Pine Grove Baseball Park which was located at the extreme southern end of town.
Pine Grove‘s veterans of all wars were honored at the formal dedication. The field was a gift of Pine Grove‘s American Legion Post 374. An appropriate program of dedication was presented in honor of all who served and died in the service of the country.
