The almanac of the Reformed Church, dated 1911, states:
For twelve years, professor of Hebrew in the Theological Seminary at Mercersburg, succeeding Professor William M. Reilly… Professor Kerschner was a graduate of Gettysburg College and of the Reformed Theological Seminary at Mercersburg. He afterward studied for three years in the Universities of Heidelburg, Tubingen, and Berlin, Germany. After the removal of the Seminary to Lancaster he continued to teach in Mercersburg College until, through the almost total loss of hearing, he was compelled to resign.
He died suddenly at Pittsburgh, November 13, 1901.
