A photograph of a surviving piece of memorabilia from the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Kissinger Post No. 376, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. This badge was used by members and their families at funerals of members and regularly at Memorial Day remembrances.
This particular piece, “In Memoriam,” dates to about 1910 and was manufactured by the Whitehead and Hoag Company, makers of badges, banners, flags, buttons and advertising novelties.
