A 1919 post card honoring two World War I soldiers from Halifax, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, who died during the war. At upper left is Lloyd Matter and at right is Samuel Leo. The view is of Market Street, Halifax, and the black-bordered memorial banner was placed over the street for the parade of returning soldiers.
According to records at the Halifax Area Historical Society, two other soldiers died in the war: William E. Motter and Henry Etzweiler. It is not known why they were not included on the post card. Perhaps another post card included their images?
