The photo appeared in J. H. Zerbey‘s History of Pottsville and Schuylkill County Pennsylvania, Volume 3, page 1230, with the caption, “Cuyler’s Nine Once Famous Baseball Team.”
The following text appeared with the photo:
During the early seventies, the “Cuyler’s Nine,” a famous baseball team of that time was organized. Patrick J. Dugan, former Superintendent of West Mahanoy Township Schools, was one of the most valuable players on the team.
The names of the people on the picture are:
