A 1994 photograph of a dilapidated structure on what was in 1875 the 135 acre farm of Simon Daniel, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Shortly after the photo was taken the building was demolished.
The farm was part of a larger tract known as Reliance that was conveyed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to Christian Snyder in 1795.
The location of this Simon Daniel 135 acre farm is shown on the 1875 map cut above – in the northwest quadrant of Lykens Township, west of Gratz. Note that Simon Daniel also owned a 100 acre farm just to the northeast of this tract.
