A 1932 snapshot photograph of an unknown customer and Kathryn [Dietrich] Gasbarro (1915-2003) sitting on the bank in front of Bill Dietrich‘s Store. The store was located in the front room of the Dietrich home along what is now Old Specktown Road north of the Gratz V. F. W., which is along Specktown Road. The house was demolished in 2020.
There are no known photographs of the inside of the store. It operated from around 1920 to the mid-1930s.
William E. “Bill” Dietrich (1896-1977) sold bagged pretzels and potato chips, bagged Planter’s peanuts, candies, soft drinks, and in-season, homemade ice cream.
