From the Lykens Register, May 17, 1900:
Wiconisco’s Commencement
Next Friday evening, May 25th, the second commencement of the Wiconisco High School will be held in the Methodist Episcopal Church, that place. Although there are but three graduates, Misses V. Elizabeth Schoffstall and Estella Kaufman and Charles Bretz, nevertheless the exercises will prove entertaining. Prof. Rowen has always taken more than a personal interest in his work, and being exceedingly anxious that this class should graduate with honors, caused him much hard work. But his labors are now to be crowned by the graduation of a bright class.
Music for the exercises will be furnished by the Wiconisco Orchestra. The address will be delivered by Hon. R. L. Myers, and the diplomas presented b County Superintendent H. V. B. Garver. Haydn Prout will render a violin solo (six airs Varie) which is a pleasant feature.
