Porter Township leads the Upper League, currently, and has a good chance of remaining in front, after having pulled victory out of the fire in a torrid game at Tower City. Pictured are the Porter players.
Front Row (kneeling): Ralph Lutz, coach; Charles Wise, No. 14, substitute forward; Roger Daub, No. 11, substitute forward; Gary Lebo, No. 8, substitute guard; George Reiner, No. 6, first string substitute guard; Harold Gangloff, substitute forward; Gene Wise, no number; first string substitute guard, who was in for the exciting late minutes of the game at Tower City.
Back Row (standing): Elmer Keiser, principal; Ron Paul, No. 10, starting guard, and a football standout; Len Harner, No. 12, starting forward and a back in football; Harold Lutz, No. 4, substitute forward, who was in the football backfield; Dave Moyer, No. 5, starting guard and a sparkplug of the team; Jim Spittle, No. 7, starting forward whose goals were part of the clinching rally at Tower City; Dale Jones, No. 9, first substitute forward; Bud Lehman, No. 13, substitute center; Ken Bettinger, one of the tallest players in these parts, who scored 17 points for his team and came through in the late pinch at Tower City.
