A carte de visite studio photograph of Henry Ream (1860-1896) and Emma A. [Lebo] Ream (1857-1918) possibly taken on their wedding day, June 23, 1888, in Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at the Smith Photography Studio. Smith also had a studio in Williamstown, Dauphin County.
Henry was tragically killed at Lykens as described in this brief article from the Elizabethville Echo, April 23, 1896:
Henry Ream, a brakeman on the coal train for a number of years, met with a fatal accident at Lykens, last Friday. He had seated himself on the end of a tie, and leaning back against a car wheel when he fell asleep. when the train moved he was thrown upon the track, the wheels passing over his left arm mangling it so, as to require amputation. He was taken to the hospital at Harrisburg, where he died at 1:40 o’clock on Saturday morning. He leaves a wife and several children — the former being the daughter of Philip Lebo, down the valley.
