From the Lykens Standard, April 12, 1929:
F. E. SHAMBAUGH TO SUPERVISE WICONISCO SCHOOLS
Prof. F. E. Shambaugh, North Second Street [Lykens], former superintendent of the Dauphin County Schools, and for the past five years supervising principal of Tower City Schools, was elected supervising principal of the Wiconisco Schools at a meeting of the Board last Friday evening.
Prof. Shambaugh at the time of his election to the County Superintendency was supervising principal of the Wiconisco Schools. Following the expiration of his term in the County Office, Prof. Shambaugh was elected to the Tower City Schools where he has since served.
During his administration of the Wiconisco Schools and the Tower City Schools, he has so founded the institutions that they were rated as first-class and many letters of commendation have been received from various colleges on the thorough way in which pupils entering from his classes have been prepared.
While it is regretted by the Tower City Borough that Prof. Shambaugh will leave their schools, Wiconisco folks are rejoicing in being able to have him return to their midst as chief in educational administration.
