A newspaper photograph of an undated post card view of Old Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The church was originally built in 1785, and then re-built in 1818.
The photo appeared in the Pine Grove Press-Herald, May 6, 1971 in its “Down Memory Lane” feature.
Photo caption:
Known for years as the “Old Lutheran Church” on South Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, this church was built in 1785, rebuilt in 1818 and has had a number of remodelings and enlargements since then, so that this original structure is lost in the additions. The present St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on the same site in no way resembles the church that was built there 186 years ago.
