A brief notification of a fatal railroad accident at Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, as it appeared in the Harrisburg Patriot, 10 September 1877:
FATAL RAILROAD ACCIDENT
An engine of the Summit Branch Railroad, while pushing a train of loaded cars to the Summit Branch pier at Millersburg, ran over a boy named Frank Alleman, whose parents reside at Millersburg, cutting off both his legs – one below the knee and the other near the groin. The boy was not expected to live till this morning, says our informant.
