The original building was a wooden frame building built in 1889 at the present site, 25 East Main Street. The cornerstone was laid on Sunday, April 28, 1889. The building an lot cost $5,154.15. Dedicatory services were conducted on Sunday, October 20, 1889. In 1940, an addition of 20 feet by 52 feet was built to provide a new Primary Department. A new brick tower and brick veneering of the outside walls was also completed. The project cost $20,734 and was fully paid within five years. Carillon chimes were donated in December 1988 by Mrs. Bernice Goldman in memory of her parents and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daniels, Leona Daniels and Margaret Daniels. An education addition was started in the Fall of 1991 and was completed in July 1992. The cost of the addition was $207,602. The loan was paid in full December 1997. An elevator was installed in 1994 in memory of Jeanette Dunleavy and Ivan “John” Dunleavy.
