A 1901 photograph of the teacher and students of the Lorberry School, Lorberry, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Lorberry is located on Molleystown Road, south of Joliett, Schuylkill County.
The photo was published in the Pine Grove Press Herald, May 4, 1972, as part of its feature, “Down Memory Lane.”
The caption:
LORBERRY SCHOOL – Daniel Hummel of 7 Laurel Street, Pine Grove – second from the left in the front rowl of this old photograph – is the only one of the group still living. The picture was taken on September 27, 1901, at Lorberry School, Tremont Township. Mr. Hummel was 10 years old when this picture was taken. Two years later, he told us, he went to work at Lincoln Colliery.
