JONATHAN H. EBY
Of the six members composing the Lykens Borough School Board today, three are graduates of the high school – one of whom, Jonathan H. Eby, is secretary of the board. Mr. Eby has always taken a deep interest in educational affairs, was a strong advocate of compulsory education and has worked unceasingly to bring our schools up to the high standard they occupy today. Mr. Eby is also secretary of the Lykens Saving Fund and Loan Corporation, and as an accounting officer has always been found correct. In politics he is a Democrat, and although he has for years rendered valiant service to the party, he repeatedly refused to be a candidate for various offices within the gift of the the party. This year, however, when a minority member of the Board of County Commissioners is to be chosen, and when by the custom of the party the selection falls to the Upper End, Mr. Eby has decided to be a candidate and is making a rigorous canvass of the county and receiving the support of many voters.
