CHILD’S HAND TORN OFF IN CHOPPING MACHINE
On Monday while Jacob B. Shiro, residing one mile south of Gratz, was grinding oyster shells in his chopping mill, his three-year-old daughter by mistake placed her hand in the popper of the machine and before it could be stopped the greater portion of it was torn off, necessitating amputation of the member at the wrist. The operation was performed in a masterly manner by Drs. William E. Lebo and A. R. Woods.
