SAINT EDWARD’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
SHAMOKIN, PENNSYLVANIA
Built 1872, renovated 1969, burned in 1971, rebuilt 1971-1974. First church in the world to be illuminated by electricity in 1893. The altars of Saint Edward’s are the only ones known to exist which are faced with Anthracite Coal. (Hard Coal)
