The dangers of walking along a highway, even within a small town, were brought home with this unfortunate accident. The car wasn’t speeding, and the driver claimed he was blinded by the lights of an oncoming car. The driver, upon realizing he had struck Mr. Boyer, returned to where he had fallen, and offered assistance. The injuries required medical assistance which was given to Mr. Boyer at the Hotel Zerbe on the main square of town.
AGED LOYALTON MAN RUN OVER BY CAR
J. W. Boyer, aged about 65 years, a resident of Loyalton, came near death Sunday evening, about 100 yards west of the Loyalton hotel when he was struck by a Ford coupe in which some young men of this place were riding. The car, according to witnesses was not running more than 20 miles per hour at the most and after passing the cross section road turned to the extreme right. The young men stopped their car and returned to the scene offering what assistance they could give.
