A one-year subscription by mail to the Lykens Standard newspaper of Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, cost $1.50 in August 1918, as can be seen by this receipt to William Dietrich of Lykens Township, Dauphin County, who paid through August 1919. The receipt is signed by Charles M. Coles, publisher.
Today, a similar subscription by mail is $42.00, but the successor newspaper is now called the Citizen-Standard and is published at Valley View, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

To the area school students prepping for the 2020/2021 school year. Good luck with the upcoming year. Keep believing in yourselves, because with self confidence, you cannot be stopped by anyone or anything. Keep the end result, the end of the school year, in sight and be glad for another day. Every morning/ every day we have new blessings.
