The photograph was taken inside the Riegle-Dietrich homestead where Kathryn [Dietrich] Gasbarro was born and where Norman Gasbarro was baptized by Rev. Wayne Z. Artz of Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz. Helen [Hoffman] Dietrich‘s mother (Lizzie Riegle) and grandmother (Hannah [Rickert] Riegle) were born in Specktown and resided there all their lives. William Dietrich was born in Lykens, but moved to a Specktown farm as a youth. He and Helen purchased the homestead in 1920 from the Estate of Hannah [Rickert] Riegle (Helen’s grandmother) and lived there until it was sold at auction in 1977. Bill Dietrich was known locally as the “Mayor of Specktown.”
