This view of the Loyalton railroad station was taken as part of the Interstate Commerce Commission’s survey of structures and properties, done in the 1920s. The intent of the survey was to determine the feasibility of consolidating the smaller railroads into several larger systems. This goal was not attained and the smaller railroads remained independent. The survey did document many of the structures in the Lykens Valley for which there are few or no photographs.
Unfortunately, the original photo was damaged.
