TOWER CITY SOLDIER DIES OF WOUNDS
Mr. and Mrs. Henry O. Adams, Tower City, R. D., have been advised that their son, Pfc. David J. Adams [sic, should be David L. Adams], died 26 April 1945 of wounds received in action on Okinawa Island.
A brother, Cpl. Howard D. Adams, was killed in action in Italy, 15 April 1945.
Pfc. David Adams was graduated from the Porter Township High School in 1939 and entered the service in August 1942. He had been awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action in December 1944.
Survivors are his parents, two brothers, and five sisters, Cpl. Albert Adams, with the army in Europe; Walter Adams, Stella Adams, and Emma Adams, at home; Mrs. Bruce Yoder, of Tower City; Mrs. Edna Porter, of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Mrs. Mabel Miller, of Pratt, Kansas.
