FUNERAL FOR HALIFAX AIR CRASH VICTIM
Funeral services for Pfc. Raymond B. Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Hoffman Sr., of Halifax, R.D., who was killed in an army plane crash at Tonopah, Nevada, 19 August 1944, were held in the Matamoras Church of God at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. Eli Howard, officiated, and interment was made in Long’s Cemetery, near Halifax. Full military honors were accorded.
Pfc. Hoffman, who entered the army more than a year ago, was serving as a gunner on an army bombing plane, at the time of his death.
in addition to his parents, Pvt. Hoffman is survived by two sisters and four brothers: Shirley Hoffman; Eileen Hoffman; John C. Hoffman; Charles W. Hoffman; Joseph M. Hoffman; and Herbert H. Hoffman Jr., all at home.
