LOSES LIFE IN WILLIAMSTOWN MINE ACCIDENT
Thomas J. Evans, age 63 years, of Williamstown, lost his life when caught beneath a fall of coal in the Williamstown Colliery last Thursday morning. Mr. Evans had engaged in the occupation of mining about forty-five years. He was a former member of the Williamstown School Board.
Survivors are his widow and the following children: Roy Evans, of Camp Croft, South Carolina; Kenneth Evans, George Evans, and Albert Evans, all of Williamstown; Mrs. Elwood Rowe, and Mrs. Norman Gass, of Harrisburg; Mrs. Ralph Hopkins, of Lemoyne;and Mrs. Eldred Swab, of Prospect Park, Pennsylvania. A brother, James Evans, of Wiconisco, also survives.
Funeral services were held from the residence Sunday afternoon. Rev. John N. Althouse, pastor of the Methodist Church, Williamstown, officiated, and interment was made in the Methodist Cemetery, at that place.
