One of the earliest known photographs, believed to have been taken in late 1912, of the Gratz National Bank, West Market Street, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The lot on which the building was constructed was purchased in 1912 and an old home there, once owned by Squire Hoffman, was demolished and construction began shortly afterward.
The bank was originally chartered on 9 July 1909. The first directors were: John A. Willier; Frank Hartman; Abraham Gross; Samuel Wiest; W. O. Leitzel; C. G. Updegrove; Jacob Boyer; Harvey Miller; Charles Hartman; and Robert C. Deibler.
